We made it down to the plot today for a few hours. It was cold and no amount of multiple layers of clothing or enthusiasm for the allotment, could detract from this. It was very cold in fact, and like much of the country, Bristol woke up to snow this morning. Beener was the bravest and arrived first, when she arrived in the morning our plot looked like this:
However we persevered and got a few bits and bobs done. We put up some more netting for our fruit cage, made some wigwams out of garden canes and twine and put some edging on one of the beds.
We have also acquired a hazard barrier, which we put around the dirty big hole we got on our plot. For more info and pictures on our shock discovery of the hole, click here and click here for the council response.
The excellent news is that every single pane of glass in the green-house remains intact. We were very grateful for the shelter of the green-house today, the wind was icy cold.
Today was definitely a day for pottering about and practising not complaining about the cold.
