We encountered a small problem on the plot today. Whilst digging we found a man hole cover which we assumed had been dumped there. However when we lifted it up, we were shocked to find a very large hole leading into a mains drain, going under the allotment.
Obviously a little call to the council might be in order- We are hoping that the council will be able to sort this quickly and easily. The walls of the drain look fine – its just that there’s a great big hole. We are hoping that the council will not have to tread all over our plot, because they can get access by walking on the neighbouring unused plot.
To think that our allotment will be ruined, turned into a building site, etc is just something that we can’t think about right now, so we’ll wait to hear what the council have to say about this.
